AI Agent for my 100k followers: How I find my ideas

I have 148k+ followers on my Instagram and I post almost 20 reels in a month. Now to make these high value adding reels, I need to ensure that I research the best ideas from twitter or blogs, but doing it manually is a little exhausting so I built these small AI Agents or Automations (yes I call them the same) using tools like Make.com and Zapier, helping me save my time and effort. In this blog post, I will guide you on how to create an AI agent that converts a Medium feed into an RSS feed, summarizes it, and sends that summary to your Slack channel. I also made a 5 min YT video on it so it helps you follow along in case you want to build something similar.

Step 1: Setting up your Medium Feed

The first step is to set up your Medium feed. Medium is a popular platform for sharing ideas and stories. You can follow topics, people, and publications that interest you. Once you have set up your Medium account and followed your interests, you will have a personalized feed of stories or if you want, you can search a key term you like and then convert it into a RSS Feed.

Step 2: Converting Medium Feed into RSS Feed

To convert your Medium feed into an RSS feed, you can use a tool like RSS.app but this only offers a week of trial so no use. I found this tool which is free for lifetime and works with Medium.

Step 3: Getting Started with Make.com

The next step is to goto make.com and start a new scenario. You can use their free tier and it would be enough for you. Now using make is very easy and simple. Whatever you want to use, just search and pull it up. The flow for this is simple:

RSS Feed of Medium --> Make RSS App --> Blog Text from RSS gets picked up one by one and is sent to Chatgpt for summary --> Summary Send to Slack Channel

Step 4: Set the frequency

The final step is to set the frequency that how frequently you want to run the automation. In my case, I just run it twice a day so that I dont run out of free credits.

And there you have it! With these steps, you can automate your content creation process. This not only saves you time but also ensures that you're always updated with the latest stories from your Medium feed. Now this automation in simple terms can be called a small AI Agent.
